43 years ago on this day, January 25 - 1969, my parents got married! it was also my grandpa’s (mom’s dad) birthday.

if my mom were still alive, they would still be married and just as in love today as they were on this day. i know this because my daddy has their wedding rings in the dining room hutch and he told me he’s not ready to let go of them yet. this year in November will be 10 years since my mom’s been gone and he’s still in love with her.

i wish i could have had more time with her. she was only 52 when she passed. it never seems quite fair when you lose a loved one so damn early. i have never placed any anger toward anyone or God for my mom’s passing. probably because she was ready and she wasn’t scared and she talked to us a lot about it. i won’t say i don’t cry sometimes still. i’m crying right now.

i am SO thankful for the time i did have with her and i am SO thankful for the parents i’ve been blessed with.

so happy anniversary mom! things just aren’t the same without you.
